Define a standard replacement
Separate the appliance purchase from installation labor. VPS’s approved replacement scope covers one standard over-the-range unit, supplied by the customer with its required mounting kit. The old unit is removed and set aside onsite. An existing bracket should not be assumed compatible just because the brands match. Share both model numbers before buying parts.
What changes the scope?
Cabinet alterations, new wiring, duct changes and haul-away are outside that standard replacement scope. A damaged cabinet, inaccessible fastening point or missing kit can also change the plan. Ask for these items to be identified separately. “Remove the old microwave” and “dispose of the old microwave” are different requests; specify which you want.
Prepare an estimate that can be reviewed
Use the planner to record the model, opening and known installation conditions. It reads the current approved rate and counts the shared visit/setup charge once. Unknown compatibility stays marked for review. Include a wide photo and accessible detail photos; do not dismantle a heavy mounted appliance just to obtain them. A planning total becomes a quote only after VPS reviews the actual job.
